The MAVO Aurora competes in an ever growing portable electric grinder market. Where the Aurora stands out is in its product design, flavour profile and comprehensive accessory list.

Flavour profile of this grinder geniunely surprised us, perhaps because we have low expectations of espresso-focused portable electric grinders, but the Aurora's burrset holds up remarkably whether you are doing pour overs or espresso. For a grinder at this price range, I think it beats out all its competition on value for money and features.

The Aurora is the first electric grinder we have seen that provides a manual crank to complete the grinding in the event the battery runs out halfway through. For those who have not used these portable electric grinders before, the battery seems to run out in the middle of grinding when you are in a rush. 

Additionally, everything is packaged nicely in a carrying case which makes this an excellent travel grinder. It is also fast charge compatible which makes it great for packed travel days.

We do however have to mention the negatives, build quality is plasticky and the tactile experience with its plastic catch cup is not the best. It's workable, but we would love to see improvements in the material used. One upside on the plastic build though, this grinder is extremely light which again, makes it a great travel grinder.
