The IKAPE "Step Down Basket" is designed to produce sweeter, smoother, and more consistent espresso by increasing puck depth and reducing basket diameter. Compared to standard baskets, the deeper coffee puck requires a coarser grind, helping to reduce bitterness while enhancing sweetness, aroma, and mouthfeel.
Its unique CNC-machined convex design creates a tighter extraction chamber, increasing flow resistance and promoting more even water distribution through the coffee bed. This results in longer contact time, reduced channeling, and improved extraction consistency. The deeper basket also supports more effective pre-infusion for better flavour development.
Compatible with all standard 54 or 58mm portafilters.
