Yorokobi (よろこび) meaning "Joy" is rumored to be forged and sharpened by Nigara Hamono, it is a special line with limited pieces produced each year. It features a striking copper damascus cladding paired with SLD steel heat-treated to around 62 HRC, it holds a very thin, sharp edge for a long time.  The knife follows a Sanjo-style design: a thick and powerful heel that quickly tapers into a thin, precise tip, a long cutting edge, and excellent fit and finish throughout.

Instead of letting the copper damascus cover the whole blade, the pattern is focused just above the cladding line. Above that sits a layer of stainless steel cladding, which then transitions into the dark kurouchi finish. These different layers create gentle waves and movement across the blade - complex, detailed, yet not overwhelming.

This knife is made for those who love the warm, passionate look of copper damascus but prefer it in a more refined, less flashy form. The bright orange pattern still stands out, but the kurouchi upper half tones it down beautifully. Keep in mind that both the copper and the core steel are reactive to moisture and fingerprints, so a little care is needed. With proper maintenance, the Yorokobi will continue to bring joy - true to its name - through its unique blend of beauty and craftsmanship.
