Crushgrind began when Danish entrepreneur Ken Muff Lassen wanted to make a better spice grinder. Working with a Japanese manufacturer, he developed a durable ceramic grinding mechanism capable of handling everything from salt and pepper to a wide variety of spices. At some point during development its durability was extensively tested in a trial designed to simulate 200 years of use, during which a single grinder processed more than 50kg of salt and 50kg of pepper. This commitment to rigorous testing underpins Crushgrind’s confidence in its ceramic mechanism, which comes with a 25-year guarantee.
The Crushgrind Billund brings a playful touch to everyday seasoning. Made from a biocomposite material using cellulose fibres from responsibly managed, certified forests and crude tall oil, it offers a thoughtful approach to material choice without compromising on design.
Available in a range of vibrant colours, the Billund invites you to mix and match, coordinate with your tableware, or choose a matching set to suit your home. At just 12cm tall, its compact size keeps it discreet on the dining table while adding a cheerful pop of colour wherever it is placed.
The Billund series is part of Crushgrind's mid-range model and comes with their medium sized adjustable ceramic burr. In our testing, the grinder was neither too light or heavy and ground both salt and pepper confidently.
