Crushgrind began when Danish entrepreneur Ken Muff Lassen wanted to make a better spice grinder. Working with a Japanese manufacturer, he developed a durable ceramic grinding mechanism capable of handling everything from salt and pepper to a wide variety of spices. At some point during development its durability was extensively tested in a trial designed to simulate 200 years of use, during which a single grinder processed more than 50kg of salt and 50kg of pepper. This commitment to rigorous testing underpins Crushgrind’s confidence in its ceramic mechanism, which comes with a 25-year guarantee.

The Crushgrind Amsterdam Set comes in matching sets of Oak wood with "S" and "P" thoughtfully engraved on its lid. The Amsterdam series is part of Crushgrind's mid-range model and comes with their medium-sized adjustable ceramic burr. In our testing, the grinder was neither too light or heavy and ground both salt and pepper confidently.
